Recent Projects
The GetSet for Business Enterprise Workshops are tailored specifically to our audience and we love creating bespoke programmes ideally focused on the group. A small selection of the organisations we have worked with recently are stated below:
Greenbank Preparatory School, Stockport Our flagship Year Six project where students set up real enterprises and trade for a week from the school. The Greenbank students set up a tuck shop, secondhand goods shop, car washing and dog walking enterprises and made a total of more than £500 profit for the school.
Lane End Primary School, Stockport We hosted a Year Four project which involved the class setting up competing enterprises all making hand made cards. The groups then sold their cards in the school (after pricing themselves, creating marketing materials and sales tactics). The project raised almost £100 for the school PTA.
Brinnington Children's Centre, Stockport The Time For Me Project involved hosting a workshop with young parents who wanted to turn a funded craft workshop into a self funding social enterprise. We worked on pricing, production, marketing, funding applications, confidence, policies and so much more over the 4 week programme.
The Teenage Market The Teenage Market is a national scheme aimed to encourage young people to sell handmade products and craft items in local markets. The aim is to regenerate markets and encourage young enterprise. GetSet produced an Enterprise guide which is localised for each market with a wealth of information, tips and strategies to have a successfull market and develop into a profitable business.
Edu Fun's Further Education Project, South Africa In Diepsloot on the northern outskirts of Joburg, the youth of today struggle to get the chance of a well-paid job or career. Edu Funs Grade 3 English programme enabled the first students from Diepsloot Combined School (DCS) to ever go on to varsity. GetSet supported the students by developing an enterprise lesson and enterprise guide to encourage them to think widely about their future opportunities.
